On 10/06/2025, deputies from the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported fight between brothers at a home on the 7600 block of Richardson Landing Road in Drummonds. When officers arrived, 52-year-old Fredrick Payne fled on foot. Deputies chased him, and under unclear circumstances, the situation escalated and Payne was shot and killed.
