On 11/06/2025, deputies with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by U.S. Marshals and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, served a warrant on 38-year-old Ali Ihsan Bayhan for making terroristic threats against several elected officials and a Jewish temple in Tallahassee. When agents approached his residence on Northwest 16th Boulevard near 35th Way, Bayhan exited the unit armed with a handgun, refused commands, and reached for his weapon. Deputies and marshals fired, striking and killing him at the scene. Six Alachua County deputies are on paid administrative leave while the FDLE investigates.
