OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 12/08/2025 deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that 53-year-old Shawn Turner of Bullard was firing a rifle and threatening neighbors. Deputies encountered Turner on his porch and an exchange of gunfire occurred. Turner then went inside his home and continued to fire. Negotiators attempted contact without success. A search using a drone later located Turner inside the residence, where he was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
