On 06/04/2021, Denver police responded to reports of a man driving around Martin Luther King Jr. Park while firing a gun from a vehicle. Officers located Colton Frederic Wagner near 38th Avenue and Newport Street. Police ordered Wagner to drop the firearm. During the encounter, officers opened fire and shot Wagner.
