On 08/24/2021, deputies from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office went to an apartment at 2135 Godby Road in College Park, Georgia, to locate Tory Brown. Police stated Brown was wanted in connection with a probation violation. According to police statements, deputies requested that Brown exit the apartment and alleged that he refused to do so. Deputies then forced entry into the apartment. Police alleged that after entry, Brown moved toward deputies and did not comply with commands. A deputy fired a gun, striking and killing Brown inside the apartment. Police stated that Brown did not have a weapon at the time he was shot.
