On 09/03/2022, Omaha Police Department officers responded to a home near 78th Street and Mary Street at about 7:30 a.m. regarding a man threatening to shoot himself. Officers located 25-year-old Daniel A. Davis in the front yard of the residence holding a pistol. Officers spoke with Davis for approximately four minutes, asking him to drop the weapon and offering help. Davis then shot himself. Officers began first aid before Davis was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No officers fired their weapons during the incident. Nebraska State Patrol assisted the investigation.
