Natrona County deputies arrived at a vehicle crash on 03/08/2023 where they found passenger Wayne Kenneth Sanchez who told them that he had ingested an eight-ball of an unknown drug. Police initially brought him Banner Wyoming Medical Center which observed him to be shaking uncontrollably, was unable to speak intelligibly and was "complaining of not being able to move" but inexplicably, medical staff did not treat him and after a mere 20-minute observation period, he was released medically and sent back to the Natrona County Detention Center where he promptly died from an untreated drug overdose which had been known throughout the event but had been left untreated. Sanchez was not driving a vehicle while intoxicated and was not accused of having committed any crimes other than being criminalized for drug ingestion he himself readily admitted as reason for arrest, according to available data.
