At around 4:19 a.m. April 15, a CHP officer on patrol spotted a gray Jeep Compass without a license plate on Interstate 15in the Corona area. The driver drove away. CHP escalated a chase, reaching speeds up to 127 miles per hour, exiting and re-entering the freeway several times, ultimately crashing at the I-15 offramp. The Jeep rolled and two passengers were ejected. Trayvon Ford died at the hospital.
