OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On December 27, 2024, Deputy Lesley Wade of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office was involved in a fatal vehicle collision near Huntington, Texas. Deputy Wade was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 69 with her two children when her vehicle crashed into an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1818. Her two children sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the same hospital. The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into the crash.
