OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 02/04/2025, Officer Jason Roscow, a 17-year veteran of the North Las Vegas Police Department, responded to reports of a man with a handgun near Lone Mountain Road and Camino Al Norte. Upon locating 25-year-old Alexander Andre Mathis, Officer Roscow ordered him to stop. Mathis opened fire, striking Officer Roscow multiple times. Despite being wounded, Officer Roscow returned fire. Both men were transported to UMC Trauma Center, where both died from their injuries. Officer Roscow is survived by his two young sons.
