OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 02/17/2025, at approximately 3:30 PM, Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2100 block of West Madison Street. Upon arrival, they found 44-year-old Michael Saye Wehdah, a Louisville Metro Corrections officer, deceased from a gunshot wound. Wehdah, an immigrant from Liberia, had been employed with the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections since the previous year. The incident is under investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit.
