OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On November 16, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., fellow officers conducted a welfare check on Officer Tyler Murrey during his patrol shift and discovered him deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officer Murrey had served with the Napoleon Police Department since 2018, contributing as a member of the warrant entry team, firearms instructor, and armorer. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in collaboration with the Henry County Sheriff's Office, is conducting an investigation into the incident.
