OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Ashcraft, serving as a special deputy for Lee County, shot Hayley Davidson before taking his own life on 06/16/2025 during a murder–suicide incident. He had been in a personal relationship with Davidson; there were ongoing allegations of domestic violence, including physical signs concealed by Davidson and concerns raised by her estranged husband. Kentucky State Police are handling the case investigation.
