Larry Blacksmith, a 57-year-old off-duty officer with the Lakeview Police Department, was killed in a motorcycle crash on July 16, 2025. The crash occurred in the 5700 block of FM 2004 in Hitchcock, Texas. Authorities said no other vehicles appeared to be involved, and Blacksmith was pronounced dead at the scene. The Galveston County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation.
