OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Detective Jordan Laverty, 32, a veteran of the Dunwoody Police Department, died unexpectedly while off duty on July 29, 2025. Laverty had served with the department for eight years and previously worked for the DeKalb County Police Department. He is survived by his wife and four children. Funeral services were scheduled for August 4 at Woodstock City Church. The cause of death has not been disclosed. The Dunwoody Police Foundation launched a fundraiser in his memory.
