OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

Around 4:50 p.m., an active shooter opened fire near the CDC headquarters and Emory University’s Atlanta campus. Bullets shattered multiple CDC building windows. DeKalb County Police Officer David Rose was shot while responding and died at the hospital. The shooter was found dead inside a CVS Pharmacy near campus, but it remains unclear if the wound was self-inflicted or from police gunfire. The area was locked down with shelter-in-place orders issued for the campus and surrounding neighborhoods. FBI Atlanta, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and local agencies are conducting a joint investigation.
