OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/16/2025, a man driving a pickup truck intentionally rammed into the motorcycle of Sergeant Caleb Eisworth on Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge. Eisworth was critically injured, suffering the loss of both legs above the knee, and remained hospitalized until 08/10/2025, when he died from his injuries at age 44. The driver was arrested the same day and charged with first-degree murder, criminal damage to property, hate crimes, and resisting an officer. The District Attorney has stated they will seek the death penalty. Eisworth was a 23-year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department.
