On 08/21/2022, 37-year-old Nicholas Theodore Ramos, a correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Institute in Dublin, California, died by suicide while under investigation. Ramos had been placed on leave in March 2022 following accusations of harassment and misconduct, including claims by female inmates alleging voyeurism. He was named “Officer of the Year” in 2021 but was under scrutiny at the time of his death. The Solano County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a suicide.
