OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 11/17/2025 at approximately 7:53 a.m., Corrections Officer Jeremy Lewis Hall was working at the River North Correctional Center when he was attacked by an inmate. Hall was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Two additional officers were injured during the incident and have since been released from the hospital. The Virginia Department of Corrections is investigating the event.
