OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/12/2025, a juvenile probation officer with the Nevada Department of Public Safety was involved in an altercation at a residence in the 4500 block of North Vogue Street in Las Vegas. During the incident, the officer shot and killed an acquaintance. After the shooting, the officer turned the firearm on himself and died at the scene. Authorities said the incident was not connected to the officer’s official duties. An investigation into the circumstances of both deaths is ongoing.
