On 12/20/2025 at about 8:00 a.m., Baltimore Police Department officer James Beckham was involved in a chain-reaction crash on the inner loop of Interstate 695 at the Perring Parkway exit in Parkville, Baltimore County. Beckham was driving a Nissan Sentra when his vehicle struck the corner of a Honda C-HR, triggering subsequent collisions with a Nissan Altima and a Toyota RAV4. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Beckham was the sole occupant of his vehicle. State police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
