OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 01/04/2026, Aaron Armstrong, a deputy constable with the Caldwell County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, was shot and killed while working an off-duty security assignment at Club Rodeo in north Austin. Austin police said the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the nightclub during overnight hours. Armstrong was found with gunshot wounds and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A suspect was later apprehended in connection with the shooting. The Austin Police Department is investigating the incident.
