On 01/09/2026, Oxnard Police Department Commander Scott Aaron was found deceased in his hotel room in Orange while attending a week-long training assignment. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department conducted a welfare check after he failed to appear at scheduled training sessions. Aaron was pronounced dead at approximately 9:20 a.m. The cause of death remains under investigation by the Orange County Coroner’s Office, with no foul play suspected at this time. Aaron served with the Oxnard Police Department since 2004, including roles as patrol officer, sergeant, and commander.
