OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 09/17/2025, Detective Sergeant Cody Michael Becker of the Northern York County Regional Police Department was killed in the line of duty in North Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Becker and fellow detectives were serving an arrest warrant at a residence on Haar Road when an individual inside opened fire with an AR-15-style rifle as officers attempted to enter. Becker and two colleagues — Detective Edward “Mark” Baker and Detective Isaiah D. Emenheiser — were struck and killed. Two other law enforcement officers were wounded before responding officers engaged and killed the shooter. The warrant service was tied to a domestic-related investigation at that address.

 

Prior Notable Incidents:
Becker had previously been recognized for actions in 2010 when he climbed to the second story of a burning building to assist children escaping the fire.
