OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/29/2010, Deputy Sheriff Jeremy H. Cassady of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office was shot and critically wounded while responding to a domestic disturbance call. He survived but endured long-term health problems stemming from those injuries, including multiple surgical interventions and organ failure. On 07/15/2025, he died at age 50 from complications related to the wounds he received in the line of duty.
