OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/08/2025, Deputy Sheriff Antonio Aleman of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office was on duty when his patrol vehicle collided with the back of a semi-truck on Interstate 10 near the Avenida de Mesilla exit east of Las Cruces. He was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries at age 33 while performing his duties. He had served with the sheriff’s office since April 2021 and is survived by his wife and two children.
