OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/19/2023, Shannon Hills Police Officer Michael Cain Maxheimer, age 39, died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty. On 12/18/2023, Maxheimer helped a disabled motorist and later responded to a vicious animal complaint; after preparing to confront the reported animals he returned to the station and began feeling nausea and chest pain, was taken to a hospital, and died the following day. Maxheimer had 16 years of law enforcement experience including service with Benton, Bauxite, Alexander and other agencies before joining Shannon Hills PD three years earlier; obituary records list his survivors including his girlfriend and three daughters.
