OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/12/2022, Bristol Police Sergeant Dustin DeMonte was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call on Redstone Hill Road in Bristol, Connecticut. Officers responded to a 911 report of a disturbance and encountered a man who opened fire, striking DeMonte and another officer. DeMonte died from his injuries. He had served with the Bristol Police Department for several years and was promoted to sergeant prior to his death.
