OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/08/2026, an off-duty Philadelphia police officer was riding his personal motorcycle southbound on the 8500 block of Verree Road in the Fox Chase section of the city when a vehicle attempted a U-turn and the two collided. Police identified the officer as Nicolas Verrecchio, 26, who had been with the department since 2021 and was assigned to the 18th District. He was taken to a nearby hospital and died the next day. The driver remained at the location and no citations were issued. The crash remains under investigation.
