On 05/14/2026, officers with the Citronelle Police Department responded to a traffic crash near Mobile Street and Laird Drive in Citronelle. Responding officers discovered that an on-duty Citronelle police officer had been involved in a single-vehicle crash. Authorities pronounced Officer Dylan Chase Owen dead following the collision. Citronelle Police Chief Chris McLean publicly identified Owen as the officer killed in the crash.
