On 05/16/2026, Mifflinburg Police Department Chief Christopher “CJ” Paris was found unresponsive inside his patrol vehicle near the borough building on West Chestnut Street while on duty. Another officer discovered him early Friday morning and emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures before he was pronounced dead. Authorities stated there were no immediate signs of foul play. The Union County Coroner’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death. Paris had served as chief of the Mifflinburg Police Department since 2023 after previously working with other law enforcement agencies in central Pennsylvania.
