OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/01/2026, Border Patrol Agent Sean M. McDonough of the United States Border Patrol suffered a medical emergency while participating in marine unit training on the St. Lawrence River near Alexandria Bay. During the training exercise, Agent McDonough developed chest pain and went into cardiac arrest. Emergency personnel initiated CPR and transported him to a hospital, where he died. Agent McDonough had served with the U.S. Border Patrol since 2007 and was assigned to the Wellesley Island Border Patrol Station. He previously served in the United States Army, the Army National Guard, and as a military police officer. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
