Salem PD believed 16-year-old Robert Fletemier-Brown was responsible for a prior incident and arrived to arrest him. Police claim he started shooting at them. “The flash bangs, the big booms, I thought it was the M-80s going off, fireworks and stuff like that, because right after that you hear the ‘pop, pop, pop,’ and I thought they were firecrackers but then when you’re looking outside you saw the SWAT team and police and everything surrounding the car,” a neighbor recalled. Police shot and killed him.
