A mother and son leaving a Dollar Tree parking lot died when a police chase crashed into them. Two hours after the crash, the officer driving had been taken to the hospital, and a man named Michael Hawkins was found in the backseat of the police vehicle. Police initially did not know who he is and how he had gotten into the police car. The police vehicle was reported to be speeding excessively without lights or sirens.

The man in the backseat who was identified as Michael Hawkins was paralyzed from this crash. A lawsuit for this injury was filed against the city. His caretaker had called 911 because of his unusual behavior and he was led to the police car. Police still have not explained why he was in the back of the police car when it sped off on an unrelated call, crashed, killed 2 people and injured Hawkins who was not discovered injured in the police vehicle until hours later. Police are not allowed to take a second call while they have not completed the call they are on and the officer was obligated not to chase the second vehicle but conclude the first call which would have prevented the 2 fatalities and caused Mr. Hawkins to be paralyzed from the waist down and remain on life support as of 07/17/2024, the time of this update.

Milwaukee Police chased a vehicle based on a report of a stolen vehicle that had previously been linked to a carjacking. The chase was escalated until the vehicle crashed. Police fired into the vehicle that contained six teenagers. They hit and injured 4 of the teens including a pregnant 18-year-old whose fetus was killed while she was critically injured herself with her survival currently unknown. A 17-year-old male was also killed in the same police mass shooting and this page is dedicated to that victim, not the unborn fetus who is not counted in this database due to the pre-birth police killing.

Wasco County Sheriff’s deputies tried to traffic-stop a vehicle for undisclosed reasons. The vehicle did not stop and police escalated a chase that ended at a gas station. Police shot and killed the man for undisclosed reasons. A police car was heavily damaged but police did not explain this.

Wadsworth PD were sent to a welfare check on a suicidal man on Durling Drive in Wadsworth and located him. Police roused and locked down the entire neighborhood and eyewitnesses reported hearing shots. He was lucid enough to tell dispatch that he had cut himself and was bleeding and asked for help. Wayne PD arrived and fired tasers at him twice. Two Bakersfield officers on their way to an auto theft call hit and killed a pedestrian crossing the street in a crosswalk at 3:30 a.m. on South union Avenue. The officers had neither their lights nor siren activated. Their driving speed was also not disclosed by police.

Police arrived at a home after reports of fires and shot and killed Brian Woodbury. Police also shot and killed Leein Hinkley who tried to break into homes and shot at police. Under pressure of arriving police, Alexander shot and killed his mother. Alexander then locked himself in the home. Police brought SWAT and a robot was deployed to breach the house.
