Marcia Pochette and her daughter Jenice Woods who was pregnant, were both killed by a police chase crash in Boynton Beach. Seven involved officers who participated in the manhunt were placed on leave.
In late September of 2024, West Palm Beach police chief Frank Adderley was fired, allegedly due to financial improprieties within the department. News soon broke that the handling of the fatal crash that killed Marcia Pochette and Jenice Woods may have also played a role in his termination. The case remains open.

Police believed that he was armed and located in an apartment.
