On 06/07/2026, Barbourville Police Department began pursuing a red Chevrolet Cobalt connected to a reported domestic violence incident in Knox County. The pursuit entered Laurel County and continued onto KY-312 near Keavy. Police boxed in the vehicle, which then struck another vehicle and came to a stop. Officers found three people inside. Investigators reported that James Priddy had shot and killed 18-year-old Jadence A. M. Hale and 19-year-old Kira L. H. Asher before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

On 06/07/2026, a Round Lake Beach police officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Cedar Lake Road just south of Rollins Road. The driver continued driving, leading to a pursuit. Police terminated the stop attempt on Rollins Road approximately five blocks east of Cedar Lake Road and lost sight of the vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a traffic light pole at the intersection of Route 83 and Rollins Road. The 39-year-old driver was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation.

On 06/07/2026, John Troy Lee allegedly shot and wounded a man at the Central States Fairground in Rapid City. Following the shooting, law enforcement launched a search for Lee. Officers with the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety and Oglala Sioux Tribe Police Department located him on the Pine Ridge Reservation. During the ensuing confrontation, an exchange of gunfire occurred. One tribal police officer was wounded and Lee was shot. He died from his injuries. The wounded officer was transported for medical treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

On 06/07/2026, Hutchinson Police Department officers responded to 3313 Dartmouth Road to follow up on a theft investigation and contact Jonathan Lawrence, who was wanted for questioning. According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Lawrence came outside the residence armed with a handgun. As officers attempted to detain and disarm him, a physical struggle occurred during which police said Lawrence struck both officers before running into the garage. One officer deployed a Taser, causing Lawrence to fall and drop the handgun. While another officer attempted to take him into custody, police reported that Lawrence regained control of the firearm. The officer who had deployed the Taser then fired multiple rounds, striking Lawrence. Officers and Reno County Sheriff's deputies provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. Lawrence was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is conducting the independent investigation into the shooting.
