On 04/29/2026, Prince George’s County Police Department officers responded to a reported theft in progress at a business in the 11900 block of Livingston Road involving two men. An officer encountered the men as they left the business and the driver sped out of the parking lot. Police followed the vehicle on Indian Head Highway near Palmer Road. Palm Springs police responded around 2:35 p.m. to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 290 block of West San Rafael Drive. Officers found a man with non life threatening gunshot wounds and identified a known suspect who fled into a nearby commercial building. Police surrounded the building and carried out an hours long standoff while attempting to contact the man. After obtaining a search warrant and entering the building, officers found the man dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
