OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 01/05/2026, a man was found dead inside an apartment complex in Willows following an hours-long police standoff. Police said officers responded to reports of a burglary and later located the man barricaded inside a bathroom of an apartment. Law enforcement established a perimeter and attempted to communicate with him for several hours. After the standoff ended, officers entered the apartment and found the man deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers were injured. The incident is under investigation.
