On 01/06/2026, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident near Russell Road and Fort Apache Road in southwest Las Vegas. Police said Justin Walsh, 44, was threatening a woman with a handgun. Officers located Walsh outside near the intersection. Police said Walsh was holding a firearm during the encounter. Officers opened fire. Medical personnel transported Walsh to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Police reported recovering a handgun at the location. The woman involved was not reported physically injured. Police have not publicly released the names of the officers involved. Authorities later stated the department’s Force Investigation Team responded and body-worn camera footage was being reviewed in accordance with LVMPD policy.
