On 01/06/2026, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers responded to an incident in the Bartram Park area of Jacksonville. During the response, two officers encountered a man and police opened fire. JSO identified the man shot by officers in the Bartram Park area as 34-year-old Daniel Rodriguez. Officers had responded to multiple 911 calls about a domestic dispute at the Luxor Club Apartments (13800 Egrets Nest Dr.). Witnesses reported a woman screaming. Rodriguez left the scene but returned holding a handgun. Officers J. Rodrick and J. Milam fired, striking Rodriguez. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
