OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 01/03/2026, Harrison Police Department officers responded to a Holiday Inn Express in Harrison, Arkansas, after receiving multiple hang-up 911 calls from a hotel room. Officers and negotiators attempted to make contact with the 49-year-old man inside the room. Police reported he was alone, had a firearm, and had barricaded himself. Negotiators attempted communication but did not receive responses. Shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers heard a single gunshot from inside the room. Officers entered the room and found the man dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Police did not report any officers firing weapons during the incident. The investigation remains under review.
