On 01/03/2026, Harrison police officers and negotiators responded to a standoff at a Holiday Inn Express hotel in Harrison, Arkansas, after multiple hang-up calls from a hotel room. Negotiators attempted contact with the individual, who was armed and barricaded inside, but received no response. Shortly after 1:00 a.m., law enforcement heard a gunshot from within the room and made entry. Inside, they found a 49-year-old man dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
