On 01/11/2026, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the Lake Isabella area. Deputies encountered a man near Kilbreth Avenue and Lake Isabella Boulevard. Under unclear circumstances, deputies opened fire and shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name and additional identifying information have not been released.
