OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 01/15/2026, Clinton Wayne Scarboro, age 35, of Uvalda, Georgia, died after an apparent gunshot wound occurred during the execution of an arrest warrant at a residence on the 100 block of Middle Road in Collins, Tattnall County. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Enforcement Team (SET) agents were executing an arrest warrant issued out of Emanuel County and made repeated attempts to contact Scarboro, including issuing commands and deploying pepper-based chemical agents into the home. After these efforts failed, a robot was sent into the residence. The robot’s camera feed showed Scarboro sitting on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound and a firearm near his hand. SET members then made entry, extracted Scarboro from the home, and turned him over to emergency medical services. Scarboro was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was pronounced dead. His body will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, and upon completion of the investigation the case will be referred to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
