On 01/18/2026, Cheatham County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault in Kingston Springs. The situation escalated into a standoff at a residence. Law enforcement secured the area and attempted to take the man into custody. After several hours, officers entered the home and found the man dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities stated the death occurred during the standoff while police were on scene. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the incident.
