On 03/28/2026, officers with the Greeley Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on the 5700 block of 20th Street. Officers encountered a man who had a knife. Officers engaged the man, and the situation escalated. Officers opened fire and killed him. After the shooting, officers determined that the man had stabbed his brother, who was also found dead at the residence. Authorities reported that at least one officer was taken to a hospital following the incident. A multi-agency team is conducting the investigation into the shooting.
