OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 01/18/2026 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Snellville Police Department officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Snellville, Georgia. The driver did not stop and a pursuit began. The vehicle continued at high speed toward Lawrenceville, where it struck a median, then a mailbox and a utility pole, and flipped several times. Neveah McGowan, 19, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers were seriously injured. Family members said McGowan had gone out with friends that night and was saving for her first car and apartment. Survivors reported they repeatedly asked the driver to stop before the crash occurred.
