On 01/21/2026, Grand Prairie Police Department officers attempted a traffic stop on Interstate 30 near Belt Line Road for suspected DWI enforcement. The driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe did not stop and fled in the express lanes at high speed, lost control on a sharp curve, struck a barrier wall, and rolled. The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators located numerous containers of alcohol inside the vehicle and believe the driver was intoxicated at the time.
