On January 22, 2026 at about 10:00 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies located 23-year-old Jaque Rabon of Loma Linda in the parking lot of the Magnolia Tyler Shopping Center in Riverside while attempting to serve an outstanding arrest warrant. During the contact police said a lethal force encounter occurred, and Rabon was struck and later pronounced dead at the location. San Bernardino Sheriff’s officials have provided limited detail about what led to the shooting and have not released whether a weapon was recovered; family members and some witnesses have stated Rabon was unarmed at the time.
