OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 01/28/2026 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned at the METRORail Northline Transit Center responded to a call involving a male suspect who law enforcement said was exposing himself on a train. Deputies attempted to interview and detain the man when a physical altercation ensued. During the struggle, one deputy was stabbed in the arm. According to police, two deputies then discharged their service firearms, striking the suspect. The suspect was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead from gunshot injuries. The injured deputy was treated at a hospital and released. The sheriff’s office and partnering agencies are conducting investigations; no suspect name or officer identities were publicly released at the time of reporting.
